Time Management

Four months have flown past, there were a couple times I couldn’t keep the blog online. At least it is back up now, and hopefully won’t be down in the future. The reason for my hiatus and inconsistent posting this year is due to the fact that I have returned to school. My professional life drastically changed and it needed to. I thought I’d be able to manage my new job, classes and personal life no problem. Obviously I couldn’t, letting my blog sit empty for several months. At least I’ve managed to get straight A’s so far even on the two summer courses I just completed last week. I’m still disappointed that I let my blog get in such a state. Going forward I’m hoping to keep a weekly posting routine, shooting for Wednesdays. Of course this isn’t concrete but I want to keep posting as it is important to me.
Since going back to school I’ve had a good track record in completing assignments on time. I’m going for an Associate’s of Science in Paralegal studies so I get more than enough reading assigned as well as a large amount of cases and videos to review. I’ve managed to read every chapter required before the class is assigned and it's a weird sense of achievement I haven’t felt before. It’s easy to prioritize school work because it feels like it’s my last chance to do it. I’m not dying or extremely old but financial aid is limited, and getting even more limited thanks to this anti-American administration, so I’ve got to make use of what I have left. I just wish I could apply this unbridled work ethic and time management to my personal endeavors.
Ever since my summer courses ended last week I have felt so empty and unsure of what to do. I only have three weeks off before I need to lock into another semester, and I’m not worried that I won’t be able to handle it. I’m worried that I will give too much of myself over to my work, and forget the other joys I have in life. I don’t hate school or my professional aspirations but a large part of my growth last year was finding and working on my personal passions. I need to find a better balance of work, and joy while still giving myself proper time to recharge. It feels impossible but like every goal I’ve had I’ll break it down into little steps. So I’m going to be more consistently writing just for myself whatever small amount. Perhaps it’s time that I actually get a planner and start scheduling things better than just making random calendar events for them.
